Most importantly, kidney stones form because the bladder isn’t emptied completely so it’s very important to drink plenty of liquid through out the day to help prevent stones. By drinking at least two quarts of liquid each day of purified water, juice or tea, your body will be able to flush your bladder more effectively eliminating those dreaded kidney stones. Recently, vitamin A deficiency has been linked to kidney stones as well, by eating lots of carrots, yams, peaches, and cantaloupe or supplementing with vitamin A. What are the symptoms of kidney stones? Some people may not have any symptoms, but most have at least some, such as:-*Severe pain in the kidneys or lower abdomen, which may move to the groin; pain may last for minutes or hours, followed by periods of relief . *Nausea and vomiting *Burning and frequent urge to urinate*Fever, chills and weakness*Cloudy or foul-smelling urine*Blood in the urine*Blocked flow of urine. The same goes for increasing your water intake daily. Some medications and health conditions require a smaller amount of water to be consumed, regularly. Therefore it is always in your best interest to first speak with your doctor. Increase the amount of physical activity you get on a daily basis. Regular exercise is beneficial for your overall health, but it also has its benefits as a kidney stones home treatment. Several manufactures of Natural vitamin supplements offer kidney stone formulas you might look into as well to help ease existing pain or prevent future stones. Kidney stones risk can also be reduced by consuming juniper berries or adding lemon juice to your water. Lemon juice helps prevent crystallization in the kidneys. Teas such as thyme tea and knotgrass tea are good for dissolving mineral build-up in the kidneys as well. Reduce salt intake – insoluble salts can form crystals when deposited in the bladder and can also form while inside the kidneys. As the salts crystallize the chance of it combining with other minerals will promote the formation of kidney stones or worse into becoming large kidney stones. If you know that kidney stone attacks run in the family, make sure you use good preventive measures, such as increasing your non-sugared, non-caffeine fluid intake and avoiding excessive dairy consumption, especially at night. Never intentionally work your body into a state of severe dehydration, which may occur if you work long hours at a physically demanding job or spend too much time in the heat. Always take plenty of water breaks when working excessive hours. Those who are prone to kidney stone attacks should never be far from two things- a good water supply and a bathroom. To avoid kidney stones it is the best practice to maintain a healthy balanced diet. Avoid foods that are sources of kidney stone build up. Simple guidelines, just stay away from too much intake of anything salty, sugary, and avoid too much calcium. We need only enough amounts of those food mentioned. Moreover, eat a lot of fiber-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables since these can aid in flushing out the kidney stones.

When I woke up today and went to the bathroom to pee, I noticed the smell was very strong of ammonia and my urine was very cloudy. Didn’t think too much of it. Just in the past hour, my lower back has been hurting severely and the pain radiates from my back, up around my hips (side) and then goes into the groin area. When I take in a deep breath it hurts much more. I am very prone to kidney infections and bladder infections as well. . . . the pain with this is just different than those. I am not sure if it could be a kidney stone? Anyone had the same symptoms and what was the outcome?

I have had a really sore back since sunday now, to the point were im crying. The pain is unbearable! Any position is uncomfortable. I have been using a hot water-bottle since I’ve had the pain. I just thought it was what I’ve been getting for years (I usually suffer with my back since I was 13) but it’s the worst pain ever! I can hardly breathe, and the best way to relieve my pain is to lean forward, which still kills! I went to the walk-in-centre today and she suggested I might have kidney stones as they found blood in my urine sample, and no water infection, but they never done anything, just to go to my GP if it persists. The pain is in my lower back, the muscles on both sides of my spine. It hurts to touch. I can feel pain starting in my groin too. The hot water-bottle has stopped working, and I can’t cope! I’ve made the water hotter to distract from the pain. But the pains been that bad, ive had the water so hot, it’s given my blisters on my back, which I know is foolish. I just don’t want the pain anymore. It’s killin’ me! So. . . do you think it is an infection or kidney stones? And should I try a different method to get rid of them? Painkillers arent strong enough for the pain either. . .
