Hello, I take a stone out of kindey Tomarrow and I'm terrified. This will be done by laser and collects the "basket" of office and put in my kidneys and bladder. I know that this is a fairly common thing that has made him someone had to do? Any advice? What to expect? Does it hurt? PLEASE HELP!

I had a basket removal last Monday (they didn’t do the laser part because I’m pregnant, and didn’t want to fry the baby). I then had a stint in place until last Friday.
So am I assuming your kidney stone hasn’t actually moved yet, and you haven’t experienced the incredible pain that comes from that. All I can say is if you can get it removed before having to go though that experience – DO IT! The stint hurts and all, but nothing remotely close to stone moving on it’s own.
Figure on taking some time off work, or whatever it is your do until they remove the stint, because it will hurt or bother you. I found I couldn’t really sit upright for much more than an hour with it in, but lying down was okay – I was given percocet, and I just spent those few days medicated and sleeping. That’s how I’d recommend passing the time.
Also when you go in for your stint removal, go medicated, they likely wont give you anything when they take it out – and it hurts…but you’ll feel much better once it’s out. You’ll be amazed at how much easier it is to move.
ummm, my other advice – it’s quite possible you’ll experience some nausea or lack of appetite for a few days. You can ask for some anti-nausea medication (I got some). Anyway, I’d suggest making sure you’ve got some bland, easy to eat foods around before going in.
Good luck! – Remember, no matter how bad it is, it’s a 100 times better than letting it move on it’s own – and it’s worth it.
My sister-in-law is genetically pre-disposed to having kidney stones, poor thing! She has had the lasering and stinting done many times, which she says is nowhere near as painful as the kidney stones themselves. It is the lesser of two evils.
BTW, have you had children? It seems to have gotten worse with here after the birth of their second child.
